TORONTO -- Winnipeg Blue Bombers quarterback Dru Brown had high praise for wide receiver Nic Demski following the team's 25-22 comeback win over the Toronto Argonauts in Saturday's Eastern Semi-Final presented by Wegovy®.
"I feel like he's been winning on those routes for, like, 10 years. So, it was awesome. He had a ton of separation," Brown said during a media conference after the game, when asked about Demski's game-winning touchdown with just 44 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter.
Demski led all players in the Eastern Semi-Final with 72 receiving yards on four receptions. Brown, 29, meanwhile, completed 18 of 30 passes for 206 yards, to go with two touchdowns and two interceptions.
The veteran wideout and backup quarterback came through when Winnipeg needed them most, capitalizing on a Janarion Grant fumble during a punt return with 1:42 remaining in regulation.
It was a wild turn of events that ultimately keeps the Blue Bombers' hopes of becoming the first crossover team to reach the Grey Cup alive.
The Eastern Final presented by Wegovy® between the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and the Montreal Alouettes is set for next Saturday afternoon at Percival Molson Memorial Stadium. Kickoff is set for 3:00 p.m. ET.
