CALGARY -- It was a tale of two halves, but a great finish by the Edmonton Elks helped the road team complete the comeback win over the Calgary Stampeders 38-28 on Monday evening to wrap up OK Tire Labour Day Weekend.
After a defensively strong first half, the offences -- particularly Edmonton's -- spread their wings in the second half for a high-flying finish.

24 - Elks fourth quarter points
After being held to a goose egg after the first quarter and only managing 14 points by the time the final frame rolled around, Edmonton exploded in the fourth quarter by putting up 24 points.
Three rushing touchdowns by ShunDerrick Powell, Justin Rankin, and Cole Snyder carried the load, while Vincent Blanchard also knocked in a long 52-yard boot to cap the comeback and the emphatic final quarter.
163 - Elks rushing yards
Edmonton was fantastic along the ground, out-gaining Calgary 163-90 Monday night. The team's leading rusher in this one was pivot Cody Fajardo, who ran for 76 yards on seven carries.
Running backs Justin Rankin (48 yards on five carries) and ShunDerrick Powell (38 yards on seven carries) shouldered the rest off the load, adding rushing touchdowns to their stat line as well.
4 - Elks sacks
The Elks defence -- as they have all season -- continued to fly around in this one, particularly in the second half holding Calgary to only 10 points.
The havoc started up front, as the unit brought down Calgary's Vernon Adams Jr. four times. Notching sacks were linebackers Joel Dublanko and Nick Anderson, as well as defensive linemen Malik Carney and Noah Taylor.
