HAMILTON -- The Montreal Alouettes held off a late push by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats as they went on to win 37-25 at Hamilton Stadium Friday night.
Tyson Philpot registered another score and Alouettes offensive lineman Donny Ventrelli lined up at tight end to grab his second career touchdown reception in a game where the Alouettes built up a 31 point lead going into the final frame.
The Alouettes' defence was lighting it up for the first three quarters, but looked to fall back into some recent bad habits in the fourth quarter as the Ticats attempted to erase the 31-point fourth quarter deficit before two more turnovers halted the charge.

6 - ALOUETTES FORCED TURNOVERS
The Alouettes' defence was stout for the majority of the night and was a turnover machine. Nate Beauchemin had a scoop-and-score along with an interception late in the fourth quarter. Lwal Uguak, Lorenzo Burns, and Germon Green would all add interceptions, as the Als' defence would force a turnover-on-downs as well in the contest.

In the absence of Travis Theis and Liam Talbot, Scott III was the lead back for an Alouettes offence that can pound the rock. The running back rushed 21 times in a game where the Als' led wire-to-wire. Scott III would add one reception for six yards.
12 - TYSON PHILPOT RECEIVING TOUCHDOWNS
It was a relatively quiet night for the potent pass attack of the Alouettes, as Davis Alexander threw for just 218 yards in a game that was 24-3 at the half. Philpot was the leading receiver for the Als on the night with 57 yards on six receptions. The Canadian wideout moved into sole possession of the CFL receiving touchdown lead with his 12th of the year, breaking the tie with teammate Tyler Snead.
