3 players to watch on OK Tire Labour Day Weekend

TORONTO --- OK Tire Labour Day Weekend is about rivalries, big plays and excitement.

For some players, this weekend is more than just another game. It's an opportunity to rise to the occasion when the spotlight is shining brightly on them.

Here are three players to watch this weekend as they look to add another standout performance to their OK Tire Labour Day Weekend resumes.

TREVOR HARRIS | QUARTERBACK | SASKATCHEWAN ROUGHRIDERS

Trevor Harris will face off against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on Sunday night and he's no stranger to putting up big performances on OK Tire Labour Day Weekend.

Rewind back to 2021, when Harris was an Edmonton Elk and he was playing in the Battle of Alberta against the Calgary Stampeders. The signal caller completed 31 of 41 passes for 398 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions to go along with a 138.1 passer rating. In 2024, while a member of the Riders, Harris went 30-for-39 for 368, three touchdowns, no interceptions and had a passer rating of 104.8.

KENNY LAWLER | RECEIVER | HAMILTON TIGER-CATS

No stranger to big games (just look at his playoff resume), Kenny Lawler had a sensational outing in last year's Labour Day Classic against the Toronto Argonauts.

Lawler hauled in all nine passes thrown his way for 123 yards and two touchdowns in his team's losing effort.

This year he won't have Bo Levi Mitchell throwing to him like he did on Labour Day in 2025, but if anyone can come alive during a game of this magnitude, it's Lawler. The Ticats' pass-catcher hasn't gone over 100 yards in a game yet this season. He could be due for a breakout performance and what better week to do it than Labour Day?

TIM WHITE | RECEIVER | WINNIPEG BLUE BOMBERS

Tim White has slotted in nicely with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and with their rivalry game against the Riders on deck, they'll be glad to have him.

White has had back-to-back monster games on Labour Day, albeit while he was with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. In 2023, White hauled in eight catches for 110 yards and a touchdown and followed that up with a six-reception, 180-yard, two-touchdown performance the following year.
