REGINA -- The Saskatchewan Roughriders survived a wild finish and edged the Winnipeg Blue Bombers 32-26 in overtime on Sunday at Mosaic Stadium to cap a dramatic OK Tire Labour Day Weekend classic.
Trevor Harris powered the Riders offence with another productive outing, while Saskatchewan’s defence kept Winnipeg’s offence in check and came up with the stop when it mattered most as the Riders improved to 8-4.
Winnipeg had chances, including a last-second touchdown from CFL debutant Dorian Singer to force overtime, but couldn’t finish the comeback as the Bombers fell to 6-6.

362 - TREVOR HARRIS PASSING YARDS
News to no one by now: the 40-year-old can still sling it.
On pace for one of his most productive seasons, Trevor Harris kept rolling Sunday with his third straight 300-yard passing performance. He finished with 362 yards, bringing his season total to 3,893 while climbing into the CFL’s top 10 in career passing yards. Harris also built a budding connection with Dhel Duncan-Busby, who racked up 104 of his 148 receiving yards in the fourth quarter and overtime.
Harris threw just three passes in overtime, but two completions were all he needed to set up Tommy Stevens at the one-yard line for the eventual game-winning touchdown.
3 - TOMMY STEVENS RUSHING TOUCHDOWNS
Touchdown Tommy lived up to his nickname, punching in a hat trick of rushing majors for the third time this season. Stevens’ physical presence at the goal line helped Saskatchewan convert all four of its red-zone opportunities into touchdowns, with all three of his majors coming in the fourth quarter or later to help deliver the victory.
Stevens’ first touchdown came on third down, giving the Riders a 20-16 lead and the confidence to turn to him again in overtime when they needed him most.
28 - BRADY OLIVEIRA RUSHING YARDS
Brady Oliveira seemed poised for a resurgence after back-to-back 100-yard games, but the Riders defence kept the former MOP in check on Sunday. Oliveira managed just 28 yards on nine carries, with linebackers Jameer Thurman, Aubrey Miller Jr. and Seyi Oladipo leading Saskatchewan’s effort to shut down the Bombers’ ground game.
The Riders consistently got into the backfield, recording four tackles for loss and three sacks, including Derick Roberson’s safety. With Winnipeg unable to establish the run, Saskatchewan turned up the pressure on Zach Collaros late in the game, ultimately leading to the game-winning turnover on downs in overtime.
